For healthcare providers who initiate and carry out care for critically ill children, this course uses a scenario-based, team approach to teach pediatric emergency management of patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest. The course also reviews CPR for children and infants and pediatric intubation skills. You will also learn how to treat pediatric patients beyond the first few minutes of emergency care and stabilizing and transporting patients in and out of the hospital. Students are expected to pass a written exam and successfully manage an emergency scenario. Successful completion of the course results in American Heart Association certification.
