The Seattle Study

According to the American Heart Association, the survival rate of people who experience sudden cardiac arrest is 5 times higher (40%) than the rest of the country (8%). What a staggering difference!  If only the rest of America could figure out Seattle’s secret.

Seattle’s survival rate can be attributed to two main factors: 1 – Widespread deployment of AEDs throughout the city and 2 – A greater number of citizens trained in administering CPR and using AEDs.  Citizens of Seattle are required to take CPR classes in order to graduate high school and to get or renew a driver’s license.  Through education, citizens become less apprehensive to try and help a person in need.

Let’s make our community as safe as Seattle.  Spread the word.  Sign up today for a CPR class, encourage your company to purchase an AED and tell your friends that you deserve better than an 8% chance at life.
